LOVE

I was building my restaurant 7 years ago today.  It was probably the point of construction when I was covered in 100 year-old plaster dust, mouse droppings, and sawdust, standing on scaffolding and trying to install a wooden ceiling.   I remember looking down at the floor and thinking “What the hell am I doing this for?”

Today I can say: I did it so that—7 years later—LOVE would come to town and play my tiny stage.  I’m still in shock over last night’s concert with such an iconic band.  LOVE packed our restaurant and blew us away.  I cried during soundcheck.

Reader, I write this to you tonight as a reminder: when you’re going through shit (literally), keep hanging on.  There may be love on the other side.  I’ll see you next Monday. -Em
