Today, I was the designated driver for a mixology field trip to Chicago. My restaurant staff sometimes has team-building days like these. We drove to a beach on Lake Michigan, Koval Distillery, and then had dinner in Andersonville. It was a nice way to spend a day and continue to build a relationship with some people I've come to love.
I just got home, and my husband is currently sleepwalking all over the bedroom (very strange sleep disorders run in my family), so I'm going to keep this short. Reader, I'm exceedingly grateful that I've had the opportunity to build teams at home, in music, and at my restaurant. It's taken me years to discover that life has significantly more meaning when it is shared with others. This week, let's treasure the people around us, look for commonalities, and enjoy our experiences together. We have so much to learn from each other. I'll see you next week. - Em
