Maternity Leave

Well Reader, I officially started maternity leave this week.  My back and legs finally called it quits.  And if that weren't reason enough, my local hardware store (Nicholson's) called my home this week to tell me they thought it was time I hang it up.  That's generally a pretty good sign to call it quits.

Before I stopped working this week, I put one more coat of satin varnish on the floors in the office spaces at my building, and then put together a little before/after photo montage:

I couldn't be prouder.  I'm so relieved to be done with the second floor at this building.  That means when I get back from maternity leave, I'll be able to work full-steam on the restaurant/venue on the main floor.  I'm so excited!  And inspired!  And enthusiastic!

And frankly at this moment, exhausted.  So tonight I'm kicking up my feet and giving my ever-expanding ankles (now cankles) a hot fudge sundae. I'll be blogging throughout my maternity leave, just not tonight.  I hope you have a wonderful week, and I'll see you back here next Sunday. -Em
