Love

Our baby girl is HOME.  She's not out of the woods yet, but it feels great to have her here. Unfortunately, her breathing condition has worsened, and we'll be spending a good amount of time in and out of doctors' offices and hospitals, but we have high hopes that she'll make a full recovery.  Her homecoming was the highlight of my week.

And then there was another highlight. On Thursday, I got a message from a woman named Ashley.  Ashley was apparently watching an episode of Life Unexpected, and she heard one of my songs playing in the background.  She googled the lyrics, found the song, and bought it.  That was touching.

But going the extra step to write and tell me how much she loved my music...that was inspirational.

In this day and age, we most often take the time to speak when we're speaking out against something.  I'm so guilty of this.  I complain about everything from bad restaurant service to bad political policies.  But I was so moved that Ashley took the time to use her voice to write something loving that I've decided to do the same.

So this week, I'm going to stop the complaining and try to write and speak from a place of love, and we'll see what happens. Ralph Waldo Emerson famously said: "We are what we think about all day long."  With a little work, maybe by next week, I'll become a better me.

I'm off to bed, excited about my mission. Sending you all my love, dear Reader!  See you next Sunday.
